-  Tell me something about yourself. Age and first time in cinema.

My name is Ethan I’m 22 and I am many things in the film industry. Writer, filmmaker, actor, gaffer, audio, everything. I had my first intervention in High School. I had a teacher, Andy Lormier. As I was not planning to be a filmmaker, I played with his video class without expecting much. Then, in depth, I was surprised by what I did. I had a hidden skill, which didn’t spark until sophomore year, when I got that click, when a movie for my school queen’s concert, and then when I took film history, when it became clear to me that that’s what I want to do.

- Are you interested in social issues enough to focus your future work on them?

When the moment calls me to do it, my heart and soul have to do it. For example, I made a video to support young women about programs that are one hundred percent beneficial and fruitful for the next generations of distinguished young people who compete and earn state degrees that was outside my niche, but man, it’s the heart and the timing, it’s the reason I love doing it. Hollywood is great, but this is what I love about making movies. It’s the moments that capture me.

-How many movies have you made so far?

Around 59 two, more are to come, and many more to come thinking about what an amazing travel film took me from my first to my last. They are different leagues.

-Did you study film?

Yes, my school had video production now I think we never had a class that was particularly focused on film, but we did all kinds of movies and even studied cinema or at least the history of cinema. Also because I like to be one who knows how it came to be. And then I took a class in college, so I was self-taught. About film cameras, things of that caliber.

-How do you finance your movies?

Mostly self-investment, and taking a job to pay for one on a low budget or no budget at all, but in October I made a horror film that was my most expensive movie I’ve ever done so far. But I once had a high school scholarship to be video ambassador who has been given a good budget to make a film.

- How do you distribute and promote your films?

I recommend filmfreeway, once I get to that point, but youtube has treated me well although I never made any money and that was my plan plan, also because it is not my goal, but my YouTube channel pushes my passion to be more than just YouTube. Yes you know what I mean, and before I could make YouTube a great way to be, better than a video I made earlier, I still have flaws, of course, but that’s where I’ll do whatever it takes to make this all a reality.

- Is "The Infomercial" part of a larger project with the same theme?

Actually yes and no, I love putting my movies on the web as much as I can or at least reference or easter egg, they are my pleasures in cinema. I can make a movie to throw my old character and be like he made an appearance, but never say that could not be a bigger part in the projects, just don’t know yet

- Do you recognize influences in your style?

Honestly no, I just recognize that I’m myself immersed in it when I make a movie. I can feel any movie I’ve seen with director’s comments, about only the style that can go from comedy to direct horror, up to romance. And realize that there are others before me, but understanding how each gender makes you feel after is more than experience for myself, but also knowledge.

- Would you like to exercise some kind of activism through your art?

Once again, as I have mentioned, it is when the moment asks and when my heart or soul lights me up, I will gladly respond because for me, the more of the art the message goes to show itself like, for example, even a greater example is "Citizen Kane" (I had my greatest pleasure with that experience in film class, it was really a good class)  they got the art and then the message spoke to them out loud, instead of finding the message but lost in the art, so one is able to understand what’s going on. For me activism is something that can be used well in film, but in terms of how to use it, whether as a documentary or as art, mind, heart, soul, you need to let this movement work for you if it makes sense.

- How do you see the film industry at this point?

Honestly for me I feel it needs more magic, and I’m talking about the magic of Hollywood, when it comes to it today we are releasing film after film. Sure the history and up-to-date technology is undeniable, but where the heart is, I had the pleasure of seeing sinners and my heart. My soul was awakened with films. There were, until now I would like to see some old, for example Adam Sandler, Ron Howard, Christopher Nolan, movies, etc., have to appear new filmmakers that by the way are amazing. I saw films of students from schools to independent shorts, it’s just a walk because everyone has things that I feel we will lose. Magic with something artificial. Is not natural, which to me is how I feel about the movies of this moment. They don’t seem natural.

. - Are you planning to work professionally in the movies?

Absolutely, my goal is to shake up Hollywood and make sure I make a career, it’s a bonus, I’m natural, it’s all I need. And also working with my admired filmmakers is a major reason, I believe that my impact and future in the film industry will be there. Surrounded by it. A bigger example is Citizen Kane (My highest pleasure was that experience in the film class, a very good class)  they got art and then the message. He spoke to them aloud instead of finding the message, but it was lost in art then one not able to understand what is happening. For me activism is something that can be used well in cinema, but in terms of how to use it, whether as a documentary or as art, mind, heart, soul, you need to let this movement work for you if it makes sense.

-          Do you think a closer approach to art within entertainment cinema would be useful in terms of industry or revenue?

Yes! Yess! The more art there is in the industry, the more people stay around because eventually they don’t want the same thing but they want something new, to admire the art instead of eating the same food over and over again. International films get it Bollywood, Japan, Italy, everything that has that art and heart, that’s what everyone in this industry needs. You get then income, praise, even I like to call a revival, it will start raining on the industry.

 - Tell me your plans or projects.

Man, if I had to pick a plan now, I want to work with King Vader was the reason I started making movies. Basically open doors, that things like that can exist as long as I never give up. I think when you get to that level, I make a movie with Vader. But my project right now is to make a mafia movie, because I think,  all the filmmakers before me have had that idea, or even after me. That film that will not only change the industry, the world itself will have that magic again.
