Ms. Granny- That day will come - Review
Ms. Granny- That day will come, is a film of almost 6 minutes, which represented India at the last Festival de Música en Cine, held in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on December 19, 2025.
The short is lovely and turned out to be official selection in the show. The protagonist is Grannybai, who tells us about the self-esteem of every woman in a highly machista, misogynist and patriarchal society. With his brazen and comical speech, Grannybai seeks to make visible the invisible: emotional and physical of each woman who assumes the prototypical role of mother and caregiver. Grannybai is a vivacious, cheeky and wild old woman with a picky disposition who displays her peculiarities, interspersed with deliberate gestures, to remind her children why they should value her because of all the sacrifices she made to keep the whole family happy and prosperous. But Grannybai also reveals an indescribable pain that collapses into untreated, unhealed and unhealed wounds.
"Ms.Granny - that day will come!" , is a short musical/ comedy that satirizes the self-esteem of each woman, played by the protagonist Grannybai. But in his speech, he also questions all the flaws that a modern society still has towards women. India is a country that has always offered us an important, quality cinema. This short continues that legacy.
It is directed by Sonal Jamkhedkar, a woman who defines herself:
